It taught a lesson of hope, thanksgiving, and kindness through the actions of the characters in the story during that fateful plane ride. In conclusion, AHA moment by Julia Alvarez was an eye opening literary work for me. It teaches us that we don’t need a reason to help people, and that kindness is for everybody. That way, kindness would not only be limited and felt by those who give it, rather, it would be extended and would have a much greater impact in more people’s lives. Third, it made me see things the same way that the point of kindness is not to pay it back, but to pass it on. We should take time to show our love and appreciation to those around us. You should STOP and ask yourself: How might this change things If the character understood a life lesson, you’ve probably learned the THEME. We can never take back the time we took for granted or wasted because of ignorance or pride. AHA MOMENT When you’re reading and a character suddenly realizes, understands, or figures something out. Second, it made me realize that at any moment, everything could be taken away from us, and that’s why we should value every moment we have with our loved ones. That there is still faith found in humanity, and kindness that we can rely on – just like the characters who were in the story who even if were just strangers to one another, still stood by their fellow passengers and remained selfless. First, it showed me that even in times of uncertainty, there is hope found in each situation. AHA moment was set on a plane ride where an engine was lost and it showed how the passengers were able to reassure and take comfort in one another in the ways that they can. And this was definitely practical in the story AHA Moment by Julia Alvarez. Three of the sisters, Patria, Mariá Teresa, and Minerva, tell their story in. It says that no matter how small, anytime and anywhere, acts of kindness and humanity would mean a huge deal. In the Time of The Butterflies, by Julia Alvarez, is a work of historical fiction based on the true story of the four Mirabal sisters who fought for freedom from the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo in the mid to late 20th century Dominican Republic. “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together”, Vincent Van Gogh once quoted.
